Our Vision and Values
OUR VISION
At the heart of our vision is a commitment to the 'Great Commandment' (to love God passionately) and a commitment to the 'Great Commission' (to go and make disciples).
The way we live our lives and our obedience to Him will show how much we really love God.
So although we love to come and celebrate the love and goodness of God, we also know part
of our worship is to make His love known to others, especially the people of Reading. In this respect the strategy to 'WIN, CONSOLIDATE, DISCIPLE, SEND' is central to our vision.
As a church we have big dreams which include:-
- Dreaming of impacting Reading with the gospel.
- Dreaming of planting many cells across Reading and beyond.
- Dreaming of being a church motivated by God's love to go and make disciples.
- Dreaming of living at a higher level of faith and the miraculous.
- Dreaming of multitudes.
But our vision is even more than that, because church is more that that! Out of our love for God and for the people of the world we also want to simply be 'good news' to those around. Yes, we want all to hear the gospel, but also we want to be 'good news' to the poor, to our local communities and abroad, to youth and children, and together with other churches and Christian groups, we want to be 'good news' to the town of Reading.
We have a big vision because we serve a big God!
OUR VALUES
Listed below are a number of values and distinctives which we feel make LifeSpring the church we are.
- Worship and celebration - because we think Jesus is worth it - and it is all about Him anyway!
- Love - for God, for each other, and for the people of the world.
- Discipleship and training - developing leaders and helping everyone to reach their potential in God.
- Friendships and relationships - being open, real, and honest with each other.
- Family - expecting the blessing of God on our families and homes whether we are married, single, adult, youth or child.
- Hospitality and community - opening our homes to each other, having meals together, and generally sharing our lives together.
- Holiness.
- Unity - one in heart and mind, and also of course, one with the wider church in Reading.
- The Great Commission - going - being witnesses, winning the lost; making disciples - forming, shaping and producing mature Christians and leaders.
- The presence of God and dynamic of the Holy Spirit.
- Generosity - giving generously to God, each other, and to those outside LifeSpring. Being generous with our time, gifts, money, worship, etc.,
- The Word of God - honouring, and doing our best to live obediently to the written word, as well as His spoken word.
